The diagnosis by an Ayurvedic physician is to determine the primary dosha and the balance of doshas through questions that allow you to become familiar with the patient. You can ask about diet, behavior, lifestyle practices, and the reasons for the recent illness and symptoms. It will be observed carefully physical characteristics such as teeth, skin, eyes, and weight and take a person's pulse, because each dosha is thought to make a particular type of pulse
After the domain type and the imbalance of the doshas are fixed, the medical procedures adopted in viewing and touching and then plan of therapy. Besides the doctors to check the patient's urine, stool, tongue, bodily sounds, eyes, skin and overall appearance. It will also have into account the person's digestion, diet, personal habits and the ability to recover quickly from illness or setbacks. As part of the effort to find out what is wrong, the doctor may prescribe some kind of treatment. Treatment is usually aimed at restoring the balance of a particular dosha. If the patient appears improve as a result, the doctor will provide additional treatments designed to help balance that dosha.
The test pulse (Nadi pariksha)
This provides an insight into the patient's history. The ideal time for pulse examination is early morning before breakfast. But emergency, may be examined at any time of day or night. An experienced ayurvedic physician can assess the nature of your body (prakriti), state pathological (vikruti), imbalances of body type, very subtle observations and even prognosis of disease through the pulse.
Examination general appearance (akriti pariksha)
Doshic reflect the influences on the patient's face allow physicians to assess the constitution basic nature of the disease.
Examination of the tongue (jivha pariksha)
Assessed through doshic status, a vata aggravated tongue is dry, rough and cracked, Pitta suffered tongue is red with a burning sensation and kapha influenced it is wet, slimy and coated film. Suggesting that the state of the digestive system.
The urine test (Mutran pariksha)

Examination of the voice (sabda pariksha)

Stool examination (poor pariksha)

The eye exam (drik pariksha)
Vata Dominance makes the eyes sunken, dry and reddish brown. The aggravation of pitta, they turn red or yellow and the patient suffers from photophobia, burning feeling. High Kapha does wet and watery with heaviness in the eyelids.
Consideration of nails (Denagh pariksha)
Ayurveda considers the nails as the waste product of bones. If the nails are dry, crooked, rough and break easily, according to a predominance of the constitution vata. Nails tender soft pink, which are easily bent are indication of a Pitta constitution. When nails are thick, strong, soft and very bright, then Kapha predominates.
Longitudinal lines on the nails indicate that mal-absorption in the digestive system. Transverse furrows on the fingernails may indicate the presence of long-term illness or malnutrition.
Yellow nails indicate a delicate liver or jaundice. Blue nails are manifestations of a heart weak. Sample undue redness of excess red blood cells.
